Bruce Willis\u2019 daughter Rumer Willis gave her fans a heartbreaking update about her famous father as he battles a subtype of frontotemporal dementia\u00a0(FTD),\u00a0primary progressive aphasia (PPA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rumer, 37, took to her Instagram Story Thursday to answer questions submitted by her followers. \u201cHow\u2019s your dad doing?\u201d one submission read, prompting her to admit that \u201cpeople always ask [her] this question.\u201d<\/p>\n

She explained that it\u2019s \u201ca hard one to answer because, the truth is, anybody with FTD is not doing great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumer Willis gave her fans a heartbreaking update about her movie star father, Bruce Willis, as he battles a subtype of frontotemporal dementia\u00a0(FTD),\u00a0primary progressive aphasia (PPA). rumerwillis\/Instagram<\/p>\n

Still, she feels \u201cso happy and grateful\u201d that she still gets to \u201chug him.\u201d And \u201cwhether he recognizes [her] or not,\u201d she believes he \u201crecognizes the love,\u201d which she feels in return.<\/p>\n

In August, his wife, Emma Heming, lamented that she\u00a0had made \u201cthe hard decision\u201d<\/a>\u00a0to move him into a separate home, explaining that the actor\u2019s neurodegenerative disease requires round-the-clock care in a quiet, comfortable and safe environment.<\/p>\n

In response to the \u201cloud\u201d critics who were \u201cquick\u201d to \u201cjudge\u201d the call she had made as his \u201ccaregiver,\u201d she\u00a0fired back<\/a>, \u201cIf they don\u2019t have the experience of this, they don\u2019t get a say \u2014 and they definitely don\u2019t get a vote.\u201d<\/p>\n

The author made sure to note that separate homes doesn\u2019t mean separate lives, as she often spends her days with the movie star. Mabel and Evelyn also keep clothes, toys and arts-and-crafts supplies at his house, which is located nearby.<\/p>\n
