{"id":299232,"date":"2025-11-22T08:18:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-22T08:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/299232\/"},"modified":"2025-11-22T08:18:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-22T08:18:14","slug":"b-c-and-alberta-premiers-continue-public-duel-over-pipeline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/299232\/","title":{"rendered":"B.C. and Alberta premiers continue public duel over pipeline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The premiers of B.C. and Alberta are both speaking out on Friday as rumours swirl that <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/news\/11536014\/pipeline-deal-alberta-to-bc-north-coast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Alberta and Ottawa are close to inking a deal for a pipeline to B.C.\u2019s north coast<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1762614923_240_70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Globe and Mail reported Wednesday that the federal government, which is in talks with Alberta on the prospect of building a new pipeline, is considering allowing some tanker traffic on the northern B.C. coast.<\/p>\n<p>The Alberta and federal governments are said to be close to signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to move forward with the project.<\/p>\n<p>It would include new or expanded port facilities in Prince Rupert or Kitimat, which would require at least a partial repeal of the North Coast tanker ban.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-video__image\" alt=\"Click to play video: 'Possible pipeline deal'\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/6P_NORTH_COAST_PIPELINE_OM01LP22.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   data-\/><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t2:17<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPossible pipeline deal\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>B.C.
