{"id":300675,"date":"2025-11-23T00:38:16","date_gmt":"2025-11-23T00:38:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/300675\/"},"modified":"2025-11-23T00:38:16","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T00:38:16","slug":"this-week-we-begun-our-architecture-and-design-performance-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/300675\/","title":{"rendered":"This week we begun our architecture and design Performance Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"852\" height=\"479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/performance-review-hero-1-852x479.jpg\" class=\"attachment-article_large_image size-article_large_image nolazy\" alt=\"Performance Review illustration by Yifei Xiang\" decoding=\"async\"  data-pin-nopin=\"true\"\/>\t\t    <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/this-week-on-dezeen\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">This week on Dezeen<\/a>, we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/17\/performance-review-series-introduction\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launched our latest series, Performance Review<\/a>, which will explore the multitude of issues plaguing the architecture and design industry.<\/p>\n<p>To kick off the serious architecture critic Edwin Heathcote <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/17\/everything-wrong-edwin-heathcote-performance-review\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">set out 12 things wrong with architecture<\/a>, which created a fervent debate in the comment section.<\/p>\n<p>We also looked at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/18\/low-architecture-fees-performance-review\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">how architecture fees got so low<\/a>, and Dezeen editorial director Max Fraser <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/20\/everything-wrong-max-fraser-performance-review\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">posited 10 things wrong with design<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/18\/joe-gebbia-america-chief-design-officer\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2271628 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/america-first-chief-design-officer-joe-gebbia-interview_dezeen_2364_col_0-1-852x479.jpg\" alt=\"Joe Gebbia portrait\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1330\"  \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/18\/joe-gebbia-america-chief-design-officer\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Gebbia is the US&#8217; first chief design officer<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/18\/joe-gebbia-america-chief-design-officer\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was named America&#8217;s first chief design officer<\/a> by president Donald Trump, a role that will focus on increasing the user experience of the government&#8217;s websites.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/18\/america-first-chief-design-officer-joe-gebbia-interview\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an exclusive interview with Dezeen<\/a>, Gebbia said the creation of the National Design Studio, which he is running, means that &#8220;design is in the White House&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/20\/birmingham-city-football-club-stadium-heatherwick-studio-manica\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2271721 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/2-birmingham-city-stadium-heatherwick-studio-manica_dezeen_2364_col_8-852x481.jpg\" alt=\"Birmingham City Football Club stadium by Heatherwick Studio\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1335\"  \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/20\/birmingham-city-football-club-stadium-heatherwick-studio-manica\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Birmingham City FC&#8217;s new stadium was designed by Heatherwick Studio<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In architecture news, Heatherwick Studio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/20\/birmingham-city-football-club-stadium-heatherwick-studio-manica\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unveiled the design for a new stadium for Birmingham City Football Club<\/a> in Birmingham, UK.<\/p>\n<p>The 62,000-seat stadium will be surrounded by brick chimneys, informed by the city&#8217;s former brickwork. It is Heatherwick Studio&#8217;s first stadium and was created in collaboration with US studio Manica Architecture and director Steven Knight.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/18\/auto-focus-glasses-ixi\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2270673 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/auto-focus-glasses-ixi_hero_dezeen_2364_col_8-852x479.jpg\" alt=\"World's first &quot;auto-focus glasses&quot;\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1330\"  \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/18\/auto-focus-glasses-ixi\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ixi has created the world&#8217;s first &#8220;auto-focus glasses&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In design news, Finnish company Ixi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2025\/11\/18\/auto-focus-glasses-ixi\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">revealed what it claims are the world&#8217;s first &#8220;auto-focus glasses&#8221;<\/a>, which feature &#8220;tunable&#8221;
