“I was just honestly never the kid that wanted to do the risky thing, that wanted to use my body or my sexuality to get ahead. \u2026 My morality meant more to me, and my character has always meant more to me than the success of things. \u2026 That\u2019s a part of inherently me \u2014 not because I\u2019m trying to be the righteous person, but I just genuinely was not that kid that wanted to do that,” she said on the “Stay True” podcast.<\/a><\/p>\n Bure shared that as her career evolved, turning down roles that didn\u2019t align with her beliefs wasn\u2019t a difficult decision.\u00a0<\/p>\n CANDACE CAMERON BURE SAYS FAITH HEALED \u2018DEEP BROKENNESS\u2019 IN HER NEARLY 30-YEAR MARRIAGE<\/a><\/p>\n Candace Cameron Bure spoke about how her beliefs affected her career choices. (Paul Archuleta\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n “So, it made for some of those decisions when I would get presented a script that went against my own moral boundaries. \u2026 It was an easy decision to say, \u2018No, I don\u2019t want to do that\u2019 because I genuinely didn\u2019t want to do those things.”<\/p>\n The “Another Sweet Christmas” star admitted there were times she had to pause when Hollywood scripts went too far.\u00a0<\/p>\n “There were definitely moments where I would get scripts \u2026 the sex part of it comes into it, and I was like, \u2018I\u2019m just not doing that.\u2019 Maybe it was out of embarrassment, maybe whatever the reason, but I\u2019m like, \u2018Nope, not going on that.\u2019 Easy to say no.”<\/p>\n Despite her strong convictions, Bure said the pressures of Hollywood<\/a> were hard to ignore. (Anthony Avellano\/Deadline via Getty Images)<\/p>\n She pointed to stars like Melissa Joan Hart<\/a>, who was transitioning into more mature roles after “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” and others from \u201980s and \u201990s shows like “Who’s the Boss?” and “Saved by the Bell.”<\/p>\n “And you\u2019re like, \u2018Oh, well, they\u2019re posing in that magazine or taking sexier pictures \u2014 maybe it\u2019s not Playboy, it\u2019s kind of sexier,'” she explained.<\/p>\n “\u2018Is that something I should do? \u2026 Wow, they\u2019re getting a lot of attention. Is that how I\u2019m supposed to grow up in front of America? Is that how I\u2019m supposed to transition into an adult?\u2019”<\/p>\n Bure was 10 when “Full House” began. (Getty Images)<\/p>\n But while many young stars chose to embrace the spotlight, Bure chose not to go down that path.\u00a0<\/p>\n For her, those decisions were never about career advancement. That\u2019s where those big, important decisions come in. What do you do with the opportunity?” Bure said.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Great American Media chief content officer recently shared with Fox News Digital how she stays confident and centered in Hollywood when society is quick to criticize.<\/p>\n Bure recently told Fox News Digital it’s easy to “stay rooted” because of her family and her faith. Sometimes you just let it roll off,” she remarked. “”And, so, I think you just have to take it with a grain of salt. I know who I am because I know who God tells me that I am, and I have such a loving and wonderful family at home.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s very easy to stay rooted and planted around the people that I love. \u2026 When there are unwanted opinions, you just go, \u2018OK, you can have them, you\u2019re welcome to them.
