{"id":301184,"date":"2025-11-23T06:30:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-23T06:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/301184\/"},"modified":"2025-11-23T06:30:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T06:30:10","slug":"cancer-medicine-prices-reduced-by-upto-40","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/301184\/","title":{"rendered":"Cancer Medicine Prices Reduced by upto 40%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>COLOMBO (News 1st); The list of 350 medicines with maximum prices stipulated was tabled in Parliament today.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority, Specialist Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama, stated that accordingly, the prices of many types of medicines have decreased by various percentages, subject to a maximum reduction of 40 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The price of Paclitaxel medicine, administered to cancer patients, has been reduced from Rs. 42,000 to Rs. 26,332.<\/p>\n<p>The price of another medicine given to cancer patients, the Cisatracurium Besilate injection, has been reduced from Rs. 3,157 to Rs. 2,610.<\/p>\n<p>The Adalimumab injection, has been reduced from Rs. 74,500 to Rs. 40,717.<\/p>\n<p>The price of the blood pressure medicine Losartan Potassium has been reduced from Rs. 11 to Rs. 8.<\/p>\n<p>The National Medicines Regulatory Authority stated that the price of Mebendazole , used for parasitic worm infections, has been reduced from Rs. 83 to Rs. 50.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"COLOMBO (News 1st); The list of 350 medicines with maximum prices stipulated was tabled in Parliament today.
