What would a double DSQ do for the championship? Well, Oscar Piastri would stay 24 points behind Lando Norris, as opposed to 30. <\/p>\n

But more significantly, Max Verstappen would ALSO be 24 points behind Norris and would move up to joint-second! <\/p>\n

<\/a>FIA technical report: <\/p>\n

The report from FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer reads as follows: \u201cThe skid wear of car numbers 81 (Piastri) and 04 (Norris) was checked. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe rearmost skid was measured on both cars according to the team\u2019s legality documents submission in accordance with TD039 M, item 1.2 b) i). <\/p>\n

\u201cThe measured thickness was less than 9mm on both cars, which is the minimum thickness required by TR Article 3.5.9 e). <\/p>\n

\u201cI am referring this matter to the stewards for their consideration.\u201d <\/p>\n

On turn 1: \u201cThere\u2019s not much to say, I was one of the only people who braked, got barged out the way, that\u2019s fine… it is what it is. The rest of the race was eventful, way too many mistakes, there were some tough moments. <\/p>\n

\u201cIn clean air we were quick, but difficult before and after.\u201d<\/p>\n

On mistakes: \u201cJust little lock-ups here and there, that was it. Not my favourite circuit of the year, but nothing to do with that… pretty bad start, took a while to find the rhythm.\u201d<\/p>\n

On title and Qatar: \u201cHopefully… I need more than that now. I\u2019m just going to go next two weeks, prepare as well as I can, would be nice to get some good results to end the year, the championship picture is what is is, we\u2019ll see how it is.\u201d <\/p>\n

On turn one: \u201cI went for it on no-one else, I let Max have a win! I braked too late, it was my f-up. I wanted to put on a show! <\/p>\n

\u201cNot my best performance out there but when a guy wins by 20 seconds, they\u2019ve done a better job \u2013 but a good race.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had a good run, pace was still good. I made the mistake into turn one, I f***** it up, was just too punchy, that cost me, second still a good result, I\u2019m not too disappointed, onto the next one.\u201d <\/p>\n

Max Verstappen\u2019s 69th win in total – his eighth in the US – and the familiar combination of the Dutch and Austrian national anthems on the podium! <\/p>\n

And Verstappen\u2019s race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase is on the podium to receive the constructors\u2019 trophy!<\/p>\n

That followed an elaborate Bellagio fountain display alongside Mickey Mouse dancing! <\/p>\n

On win: \u201cIt was good, it worked really well, the race is usually a tough one but we had tyres under control. Could push a bit more, split the race in half, that definitely helped a lot. Car was working pretty well. <\/p>\n

On title: \u201cIt\u2019s still a big gap, but we always try and maximise everything we\u2019ve got. We\u2019ll try and win the race and by Abu Dhabi, see where we\u2019re at.\u201d<\/p>\n
