The Boston Red Sox<\/a> knew they struck diamonds when Roman Anthony made it to the big leagues. While he got off to a slow start, he became the heart of the offense, which led to their downfall in the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Now, Red Sox legend Fred Lynn, the first wearer of No. 19, spoke on Anthony\u2019s future in the MLB and how he is as a hitter. And to Lynn, Anthony will be a fearsome hitter.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has a really good idea of the strike zone. He doesn\u2019t swing at bad balls, and he hits the ball the other way already. That\u2019s key at Fenway Park for a lefty. That means he can\u2019t be pitched in one certain way. He has options with what he wants to do with the ball. He can drive the ball [over the Green Monster] or he can pull the ball. This season, Anthony slashed .292\/.396\/.463\/.859 with 19 doubles, eight home runs, and 32 RBI in 71 games. Now that he’s had a taste of the MLB, he probably will come back in the 2026 season as a menace.<\/p>\n

And the Sox know that, too. They signed Anthony to a ridiculously team-friendly eight-year, $130 million deal to keep him in Boston for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, Anthony takes this offseason seriously, trains hard, and comes back a terror to lead the Sox to the promised land.<\/p>\n
