He has five goals and nine assists through 18 games played, already half of what he produced in all of 2024-25. As a left-shot defenceman who plays on the right side, he provides plenty of options for the organization going forward.<\/p>\n<p>Montreal doesn\u2019t play again until Wednesday when it begins a Western Conference road trip, so Engstr\u00f6m will have the chance to participate in some NHL practices and get to see the routine of NHL players over the next few days. Montreal has six healthy defencemen on the roster already, so there is no guarantee that he will play during his first NHL recall, but the experience of joining the team on a road trip will be good for him.<\/p>\n<p>Engstr\u00f6m was selected in the third round of the NHL draft back in 2022, and would follow Juraj Slafkovsk\u00fd, Owen Beck, Lane Hutson, and Jared Davidson as the fifth member of that Habs class to play in Montreal when the time comes to make his NHL debut.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Credit: Vitor Munhoz\/l\u2019Arena du Rocket, Inc.
