After delivering a win for the Cleveland Browns<\/a> in his first career NFL game, quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a strong message for his doubters and critics.<\/p>\n

Following Cleveland’s 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>, Sanders made it known that anyone who predicted or cheered for his failure will continue to be disappointed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“A lot of people wanted to see me fail. You know, it ain’t gonna happen,” Sanders said in his postgame press conference in a video shared by the Browns on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The win was the first of its kind for the Browns in a long time. Sanders became the first Cleveland quarterback<\/a> to win his first NFL start since the team was reintroduced in 1999. The last Browns’ rookie quarterback to win<\/a>\u00a0his first career start was Eric Zeier in 1995.<\/p>\n

Sanders was 11-for-20 during the game, passing for 209 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Sanders’ numbers might have been better and the win might have been more convincing if receiver Jerry Jeudy didn’t make a critical error following a big reception<\/a> from Sanders late in the first half.<\/p>\n

No word yet on whether Sanders will start Cleveland’s next game if fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel is healthy.
