The company plans to have 10 of its state-of-the-art AP1000 <a href=\"https:\/\/interestingengineering.com\/culture\/westinghouse-google-cloud-ai-nuclear-reactors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">nuclear reactors<\/a> under construction by 2030.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNuclear is notable for offering clean, reliable power at an immense scale from a small footprint,\u201d said Westinghouse in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>Once completed, these reactors are expected to provide enough combined power to electrify approximately 7.5 million households, a figure roughly equivalent to every home in the five largest US cities plus several data centers.<\/p>\n<p>To meet immense energy demand<\/p>\n<p>This expansion is critical as the United States energy grid faces mounting pressure.
