Jonathan Kuminga has had a rough go of it during the first month of the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n

In addition to playing lackluster basketball for Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors<\/a>, Kuminga is currently nursing a knee injury (bilateral patellar tendinitis) that has already sidelined him for five games.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Kuminga, who reportedly feels like the Warriors’ scapegoat<\/a>\u00a0less than 20 games into the year, received a less-than-ideal injury update from Kerr while speaking to reporters.<\/p>\n

Is Jonathan Kuminga out for the season?<\/p>\n

No, according to Kerr, Kuminga has not been ruled out for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign. However, Kerr did note that the former lottery pick isn\u2019t ready to return <\/a>to the hardwood just yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I just talked to the training staff,\u201d Kerr said. \u201cThey tell me it\u2019s day to day. So, talking to JK, and he said he\u2019s not moving that well, so I can\u2019t tell you what the outlook is.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJK can tell you that better than I could, so he needs to feel better and be able to move better before we can put him out there. Maybe we\u2019ll get imaging done on the knee, but yeah, we got to figure it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Essentially, Kuminga\u2019s movements suggest he\u2019s still in recovery mode following his devastating lower-body setback, making it logical for Kerr and Dubs to adopt a cautious approach moving forward.<\/p>\n

Kuminga is averaging 13.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game so far this season, shooting 47.8% from the field and 32.4% from deep.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, Kuminga returns to action soon and gets back on track in the Bay.<\/p>\n
