Another day to think on it all, Jeremy Mayfield is ripping NASCAR <\/a>again for the leaked messages that have come out. Mayfield, who has a long and controversial history with NASCAR, believes that this is what he was fighting against the whole time. <\/p>\n

Jeremy Mayfield was forced out of NASCAR after allegedly failing a drug test. NASCAR kept him suspended while Mayfield took the sport to court. The five-time winner in the Cup Series has not competed in NASCAR since 2009. <\/p>\n

When the text messages from Steve Phelps about Richard Childress came out, Mayfield immediately commented on the situation<\/a>. He wasn\u2019t done, either. He had a follow-up just last night. <\/p>\n

\u201cThese leaked messages are just confirming what some of us lived firsthand,\u201d Mayfield posted on Facebook<\/a>. \u201cChallenge them and you\u2019re the enemy. Question them and you get crushed. Build something without them and you\u2019re a target. Stop serving their agenda and suddenly you\u2019re just another \u2018stupid redneck.\u2019 <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is who they are and who they\u2019ve always been behind closed doors. People call it shocking. It\u2019s not. And now their own words are doing what they tried to do to everyone else, BURYING them. Suddenly all these \u2018stupid rednecks\u2019 can read just fine.\u201d <\/p>\n

Strong words from Jeremy Mayfield, who definitely has a more personal connection than most. The departure of Mayfield from the sport remains highly controversial for many fans. Mayfield is still racing. He recently won the Grand National Super Series championship after claiming nine wins on the season. <\/p>\n

Just a couple of days ago, Jeremy Mayfield was calling out the redneck comments made by Steve Phelps against Richard Childress. It is an issue that is likely not going away any time soon for NASCAR and Phelps as fans have latched onto the attack with many reactions, mostly negative. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf it weren\u2019t for \u2018stupid\u2019 rednecks those \u2018suits\u2019 wouldn\u2019t have a job,\u201d\u00a0Mayfield posted on Twitter.<\/a>\u00a0Many fans shared the same sentiment in the replies, too.<\/p>\n

Richard Childress has been in NASCAR for decades. First as a driver and then as a team owner. His contributions to the sport are numerous. It bears remembering that it was he who kept Dale Earnhardt\u2019s career afloat as Osterlund Racing went under and then the Jim Stacy debacle. <\/p>\n

Jeremy Mayfield clearly has strong feelings about this NASCAR lawsuit.
