Toni Braxton reacted to Kayla Nicole<\/a> dressing up as her for Halloween after the latter was accused of dissing Taylor Swift.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI like to think that she was just paying homage to me and did it for Halloween,\u201d the Grammy winner told \u201cEntertainment Tonight\u201d <\/a>in an interview published Friday.<\/p>\n

Nicole, who dated Travis Kelce from 2017 to 2022, was accused of dissing Swift when she recreated Braxton\u2019s glammed-up look and music video for her 2000 track \u201cHe Wasn\u2019t Man Enough\u201d last month.<\/p>\n

The internet personality, 34, took to Instagram to share a video of herself dancing and lip-syncing to the lyrics.<\/p>\n

\u201cDid you know about us back then? \/ Do you know I dumped your husband, girlfriend? I\u2019m not thinking \u2019bout him \/ But you married him \/ Do you know I made him leave? \/ Do you know he begged to stay with me? \/ He wasn\u2019t man enough for me,\u201d the song lyrics read.<\/p>\n

At the time, fans alleged that Nicole was subtly sending a message to Swift, 35, after the \u201cLover\u201d songstress was accused of referring to the \u201cPre-Game\u201d podcast host<\/a> in her \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d album.<\/p>\n

When the \u201cET\u201d interviewer informed Braxton, 58, about the rumored drama between Swift and Nicole, she responded with a laugh, \u201cOh, that\u2019s bitter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole, however, later clarified that her tribute to Braxton was inspired by a childhood memory <\/a>during an episode of her podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a white best friend. Her name was Taylor,\u201d she explained earlier this month. \u201cAnd she [had] the only house I could go over to as a kid because my mom didn\u2019t play them type of games.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI specifically remember driving home from private school in my uniform in the back of a paddy wagon with Taylor, and her mom was playing this song,\u201d Nicole said.<\/p>\n

The podcaster stated that she had an\u00a0\u201cah-ha moment\u201d realizing that \u201cwhite people listen to black people music as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole later denied that she was \u201ctearing other women down\u201d with her costume, stating that she only wanted to \u201ccelebrate\u201d Braxton.<\/p>\n

\u201cHalloween is an opportunity for me not to be myself and to dress up as someone that I admire, someone that I\u2019ve been a fan of, someone that I think is chef\u2019s kiss,\u201d she said on her Nov. 8 podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys don\u2019t want celebrities \u2026 to dress up as celebrities, but I\u2019m confused because what am I supposed to do?\u201d she asked. \u201cA doctor? Superwoman?\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicole has subtly referred to her past romance with Kelce on her podcast, formerly talking about their dogs<\/a> and telling critics <\/a>to \u201cmove on.\u201d<\/p>\n
