His 5,296 yards through the air were nine ahead of the next best, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/nathan-rourke\/165740\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Nathan Rourke\">Nathan Rourke<\/a>, as the pair were the only quarterbacks to surpass 5k in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Mitchell anchored a prolific passing attack in Hamilton that saw the gunslinger throw for 36 touchdowns, the most in the CFL. Even more impressive was Mitchell\u2019s ability to protect the football, only throwing 11 interceptions, a league-low, on the year. The Ticats\u2019 pivot also turned back the clock this season, showing everyone he\u2019s still got it, running in a touchdown on the ground for the first time in 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>RECEIVING LEADER: KEON HATCHER SR. | 1,688 YARDS<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Keon Hatcher Sr. was the top receiver in the CFL this season and he did so quietly. The BC Lions pass-catcher let his play do the talking in 2025, hauling in 1,688 yards, 255 more than Hamilton\u2019s Kenny Lawler.<\/p>\n<p>Hatcher Sr. was the favourite target of Rourke in BC, catching 102 receptions (tied for first with Toronto\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/kevin-mital\/168778\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Kevin Mital\">Kevin Mital<\/a>) on 145 targets (league-high). Hatcher Sr. had seven games of 100+ yards, including a season-high 156 against Montreal in Week 11 where he caught all 11 passes thrown his way and scored two touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>RUSHING LEADER: DEDRICK MILLS | 1,409 YARDS<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/dedrick-mills\/166516\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Dedrick Mills\">Dedrick Mills<\/a> was the perfect complement on the ground to Vernon Adams Jr.\u2019s big play ability through the air for the Calgary Stampeders. The running back\u2019s bruising style was on full display, powering through defenders, or carrying them with him, as he fought on every play to gain extra yards.<\/p>\n<p>He finished the year at the top of the stats sheet with 1,409 yards, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. His 11 rushing touchdowns tied for the most in the CFL with REDBLACKS quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/dustin-crum\/165471\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Dustin Crum\">Dustin Crum<\/a> and Lions running back James Butler.<\/p>\n<p>SACK LEADER: MATHIEU BETTS | BC LIONS | 15<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/mathieu-betts\/164861\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Mathieu Betts\">Mathieu Betts<\/a> was named 2025\u2019s Most Outstanding Defensive Player after leading in sacks for the second time in three years, finishing with 15 quarterback takedowns, two clear of second-place.<\/p>\n<p>Betts did more than just collect sacks, tallying 68 defensive plays, including 42 defensive tackles, four forced fumbles, four pass knockdowns, two tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.<\/p>\n<p>DEFENSIVE TACKLES LEADER: MICAH AWE | 114<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Micah Awe in your living room!<\/p>\n<p>The CFL leader in tackles in the regular season picks up a huge sack to open the second half!<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\uddd3\ufe0f: Western Semi-Final LIVE NOW<br \/>\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6: TSN, TSN2, RDS<br \/>\ud83c\udf0e: CFL+<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/GCPlayoffs?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#GCPlayoffs<\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BCLions?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@BCLions<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/b9J4EpPeZi\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/b9J4EpPeZi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CFL (@CFL) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CFL\/status\/1984759050761093227?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">November 1, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anywhere the football was in 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/micah-awe\/162712\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Micah Awe\">Micah Awe<\/a> wasn\u2019t too far behind. The Lions\u2019 middle linebacker played sideline-to-sideline football, collecting 114 tackles on the way to climbing up the leaderboard.<\/p>\n<p>He also tallied a tackle for loss and picked off quarterbacks twice, while also forcing a fumble.<\/p>\n<p>SPECIAL TEAMS TACKLES LEADER: TYRELL RICHARDS | 30<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2715120\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2715120 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Tyrell_Richards_2024_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2043\" height=\"1152\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2715120\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tyrell Richards suited up on both special teams and defence in the 2025 season (Minas Panagiotakis\/CFL.ca)<\/p>\n<p>A pair of Montreal Alouettes topped the stat sheet in tackles on special teams, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/tyrell-richards\/166973\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Tyrell Richards\">Tyrell Richards<\/a> leading the pack (30), five ahead of his teammate Alexandre Gagn\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Richards was punishing on cover teams this year, tracking down returners with speed and precision, stopping them in their tracks 30 times.<\/p>\n<p>INTERCEPTIONS LEADER: FIVE TIED | 6<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We couldn\u2019t just name one player here, since there were five defensive backs that tied for the league lead in interceptions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/adrian-greene\/167004\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Adrian Greene\">Adrian Greene<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/tevaughn-campbell\/161543\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Tevaughn Campbell\">Tevaughn Campbell<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/stavros-katsantonis\/165761\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Stavros Katsantonis\">Stavros Katsantonis<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/jamal-peters\/165258\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Jamal Peters\">Jamal Peters<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/tarvarus-mcfadden\/165813\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Tarvarus McFadden\">Tarvarus McFadden<\/a> all hauled in six picks in 2025, showing off their abilities to read offences, jump routes and create turnovers.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also worth noting that three of those defensive backs are Canadian: Katsantonis, Greene, and Campbell. In Greene\u2019s first year in Calgary, he took two of those interceptions to the house. Campbell was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/2025\/11\/19\/3-tevaughn-campbell-moments-that-stood-out-in-the-112th-grey-cup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">one of the heroes in the 112th Grey Cup<\/a>, hauling in a pick and forcing Shea Patterson to fumble on the goal line for the game-sealing turnover.<\/p>\n<p>FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE LEADER: SEAN WHYTE | 95.1<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/sean-whyte\/136193\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Sean Whyte\">Sean Whyte<\/a> could have been called Mr. Automatic in 2025. The BC Lions\u2019 kicker connected on an incredible 95.1 per cent of his field goals this season, missing just two three-point tries.<\/p>\n<p>He hit 39 of 41 field goal attempts, including his longest from 49 yards.<\/p>\n<p>50+ FIELD GOALS LEADER: LIRIM HAJRULLAHU | 12<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Lirim Hajrullahu with a 56-yard field goal to end the first half!<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CFLGameday?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#CFLGameday<\/a><br \/>\ud83d\udcc5: Roughriders vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TorontoArgos?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@TorontoArgos<\/a> LIVE NOW<br \/>\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6: TSN, RDS<br \/>\ud83c\udf0e: CFL+ <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/N9JB7wlHTF\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/N9JB7wlHTF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CFL (@CFL) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CFL\/status\/1936228355613081823?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">June 21, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/lirim-hajrullahu\/160189\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Lirim Hajrullahu\">Lirim Hajrullahu<\/a>\u2018s leg seemed to be made of steel in 2025, and the Argos trusted him from distance because of it.<\/p>\n<p>Hajrullahu led the CFL in field goal attempts from 50+ yards with 15 and connected on a league-high 12 of them.
