Since joining LIV Golf in 2022, Cameron Smith hasn\u2019t found much success elsewhere, even speaking poorly of his own game ahead of the BMW Australian PGA Championship.<\/p>\n
Smith<\/a> had an incredible season in 2022 when he won the Players Championship<\/a> and the Open Championship, signing with LIV Golf<\/a> shortly after. This year, however, Smith missed every single cut in 2025 at the majors for the first time in his career<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Australian is coming off a missed cut at the PIF Saudi International, but is still a home favorite at the BMW Australian PGA Championship hosted by the Royal Queensland Golf Club.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Yankees owner blasted after saying it’s ‘not fair’ to say club turns a profit and should lower payroll<\/a>READ MORE: Jauan Jennings’ six-word advice speaks volumes after crazy 49ers-Panthers fight<\/a><\/p>\n He was asked about winning a home trophy with his baby boy in attendance, and didn\u2019t seem to care too much about the opportunity.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah that would be cool,\u201d Smith told Australian Golf Digest.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t really thought about that because I\u2019ve been playing like c— but that would be awesome and maybe that\u2019s a good thing to think about and get me amped up for this week.<\/p>\n Smith, the former World No. 2 and major winner, is now two years and three months from his last victory.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to [the Australian PGA and Open]. I feel like the game\u2019s in a good enough spot to compete. Obviously, Royal Queensland is a course that I love and have played well at.<\/p>\n \u201cI think just being at home brings that [playfulness] back a little bit as well, and obviously having success here at RQ probably helps. I\u2019m trying to go out there and not worry about it so much.\u201d<\/p>\n READ MORE: Future PGA Tour star backed to instantly become best putter<\/a>READ MORE: MNF cameras catch moment that sparked wild Panthers-49ers postgame brawl<\/a><\/p>\n Smith is also set to tee off at the Australian Open in Royal Melbourne early next month and added more insight on his feelings ahead of the swing.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve never really played with expectations, so I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything that I really need to do.<\/p>\n \u201cI think what I need to do is prepare well and then just forget about it to be honest.
