two games<\/a> would be made available to the general public on Thursday, Feb. 19.<\/p>\nThe first game will take place Saturday, June 27, against the Calgary Stampeders and then on Saturday, July 4, with the Edmonton Elks providing the opposition.<\/p>\n
Kickoff for these games in weeks four and five is at 4 p.m. at the expanded Save-On-Foods Field at the Apple Bowl.<\/p>\n
The entire 2026 CFL schedule will be released on Tuesday, Dec. 9.<\/p>\n
The Kelowna games follow a successful Touchdown Pacific event in 2024, held in Victoria. Kelowna\u2019s games will also feature a festival to celebrate the Lions.<\/p>\n
Canadian Football League commissioner Stewart Johnston said that playing in Kelowna is an opportunity to showcase the CFL experience and strengthen the connection with Okanagan communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Lions continue to show that they are truly B.C.\u2019s team through their tremendous efforts to engage fans across the province,\u201d said Johnston.<\/p>\n
Mayor Tom Dyas, who attended the announcement on Monday morning, said Touchdown Kelowna will be a celebration for the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cHosting the BC Lions will draw visitors from across the province, supporting local businesses and boosting our local economy. This week-long celebration of Canadian football will energize Kelowna, create lasting memories for families and fans, and showcase our community on a national stage,\u201d said Dyas.<\/p>\n
Nathan Rourke, the 2025 CFL Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Canadian, expressed his excitement as a British Columbian to have the Lions play in Kelowna.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t wait to lead the Lions into another historic CFL venture in our province. Embarking on our home schedule will be a great opportunity for our team to gel. It will also be exciting to get out into the community and engage with our great fans in the entire region,\u201d explained Rouke.<\/p>\n
