Popular golfer Rory McIlroy is never shy to weigh in on the LIV Golf-PGA Tour unification discourse that’s embroiled the sport over the last two years.<\/p>\n
However, the 2025 Masters Champion<\/a> admitted in a recent interview on CNBC that he thinks “golf is in such a great place” while other sports remain fractured.\u00a0<\/p>\n McIlroy<\/a> raised NASCAR<\/a> as an example. The circuit is still in the midst of a lawsuit with Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s 23XI Racing (and Front Row Motorsports) suing the organization<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cGolf is in such a good place, but at the same time, you see some of these other sports that have been fractured for so long,\u201d he said on CNBC’s CEO Council Forum.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cYou look at boxing, for example, or you look at what’s happened in motor racing in the United States, with Indy and NASCAR and everything else.”<\/p>\n \u201cFor golf in general, it would be better if there were unification.
