Pacific Life Insurance released a statement over the legal dispute. “For nearly 160 years, we have committed ourselves to fairness, integrity, and acting in the best interests of our clients \u2014 and we continue to take this responsibility very seriously,” the statement said. “Pacific Life offers several different life insurance products, each with unique characteristics that are important to understand before making a decision.”<\/p>\n
However, Busch and his legal team have sought out individuals who have suffered the same fate to strengthen their case. “These insurance companies are too big to be (messing) with the little people, so we’re going to go at them,” he said. “It’s not just race car drivers or athletes or rich people of the world and this is why we’re going public with it.”<\/p>\n
‘The guy got commission’<\/p>\n
The lawsuit also implicates Pacific Life agent Rodney A. Smith, accusing him of advising the Buschs to invest in a risky, unsustainable financial product. Additionally, it reveals that he charged them an undisclosed 35% upfront commission.<\/p>\n
Bysch continued his fury over the commission. “I was like wow, before my money even went into Pac Life, the guy got 35% commission,” Busch said. “That was after the fact.”<\/p>\n
The judge assigned to Busch’s lawsuit, Bell, isn’t unfamiliar with cases involving NASCAR or its drivers. He’s currently overseeing 23XI\/FRM’s antitrust lawsuit with the governing body, where the teams are alleging monopolistic practices over it’s most recent charter agreement. The trial for the antitrust lawsuit is set to begin on December 1.
