Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne<\/a> announced the death of his son, model and actor Ethan Browne, on his official Facebook page<\/a> Wednesday night. \u201cIt is with deep sorrow that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and has passed away,\u201d the statement read. \u201cWe ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time. No further details are available at this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n Ethan Browne was born to Jackson Browne and model Phyllis Major in 1973. Six months later, he was on the cover of Rolling Stone<\/a> in his father\u2019s arms. \u201cI wanted a baby \u2019cause I wanted to be a baby,\u201d he said in the cover story. \u201cI play with [Ethan] all the time; there\u2019s something pure about it. Look at all those expressions he\u2019s got. He\u2019s a real kick in the ass.\u201d Jackson Browne and Major married in December 1975, and Major died by suicide four months later in 1976. \u201cI only had two things that I hoped I could fit together,\u201d he said in 2021<\/a>, \u201cbeing a songwriter and a father.\u201d<\/p>\n Ethan worked as a model, actor, and musician. He played a role in 1995\u2019s Hackers starring Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller, as well as the 2004 Kate Hudson film Raising Helen. He later pivoted to music, starting a record label and releasing an album with Cat Colbert, the child of bassist Charles Colbert.<\/p>\n Jackson Browne\u2019s statement gave no cause of death.
