{"id":310637,"date":"2025-11-27T17:12:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T17:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/310637\/"},"modified":"2025-11-27T17:12:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T17:12:19","slug":"alonso-to-celebrate-end-of-poor-f1-2025-in-qatar-and-abu-dhabi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/310637\/","title":{"rendered":"Alonso to celebrate end of poor F1 2025 in Qatar and Abu Dhabi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Double Formula 1 world champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/fernando-alonso\/829156\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Fernando Alonso<\/a> reckons the final two rounds of the 2025 season will act as a \u201ccelebration\u201d to mark the end of an underwhelming year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Aston Martin driver heads into this weekend\u2019s Qatar Grand Prix 13th in the championship, three spots above team-mate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/lance-stroll\/840484\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Lance Stroll<\/a>, with the Silverstone squad eighth in the constructors\u2019 standings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It comes ahead of a huge regulation change in 2026, as F1 cars will become lighter and smaller while there will also be more emphasis on electrical energy with a near 50-50 split against the internal combustion engine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So everything will be new and that is why Alonso looks forward to the end of the current ground-effect era, considering it&#8217;s been two years since his last podium &#8211; 2023 Brazil Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s two grands prix of celebration, or I take it that way,\u201d the 44-year-old told DAZN in Las Vegas. \u201cQatar with the sprint, which we don&#8217;t have much time and we can&#8217;t sleep because we only have one free practice session and we&#8217;re already going to qualifying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then Abu Dhabi, which is usually a farewell for everybody and a bit of a rest.
