Skins Game golf format

Here is a breakdown of the format for the Skins Game:

Each hole is worth one point, which is called a “skin.”

If one player has the lowest score on a hole, that player wins the skin. For example, if three players finish with bogeys and the last player sinks a par putt, that player would win the skin.

However, if two or more players tie for the lowest score on a hole, that skin carries over to the next hole. That means the next hole would be worth two skins instead of one.

Skins can continue to roll over until a player wins a hole outright, so one hole could eventually be worth several skins.

This year’s edition of the Skins Game will have a special “reverse purse.” Each player will begin the event with $1 million, and fans can watch as the totals rise and fall throughout the day.
