The former UFC welterweight champion lost his title to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315 in May, then returned at UFC Qatar, only to lose a unanimous decision to Ian Machado Garry in the co-main event. This is the first losing streak of Muhammad\u2019s 30-fight pro MMA career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Carr became RAF\u2019s inaugural welterweight champion with a win over Egyptian Olympian Amr Reda Hussen in October. The 26-year-old competed in two different divisions in college, winning a national title at 157 pounds in 2021 and then at 165 pounds in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">It\u2019s been a busy first year for RAF, which holds its third event Saturday in Chicago.
