Korea\u2019s top-ranked amateur posted rounds of 71, 68 and 70 to finish at seven-under-par 209 for 54 holes. Despite sporadic rain delays in the final round, the 17-year-old stayed steady down the stretch to secure a convincing victory at one of the region\u2019s most prestigious amateur stops.<\/p>\n
Australian Josiah Edwards finished second at four-under-par 212 (69, 70, 73), while Malaysia\u2019s Aiden Kei thrilled the home crowd in third at two-under-par 214 (71, 70, 73). Kei\u2019s final-round charge was highlighted by a hole-in-one on the par-three 12th, one of the tournament\u2019s signature moments. <\/p>\n
Kim\u2019s win continued a strong run in Malaysia after he placed fourth in last week\u2019s Malaysian Amateur Open at Permaipura Golf & Country Club. Kim was runner-up in that championship a year ago at Sabah Golf & Country Club, and this season\u2019s progress has included a tie for seventh at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in Dubai. He currently stands 220th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. <\/p>\n
At Permaipura, Kim\u2019s teammates An Hae-cheon and Yang Yun-seo claimed the men\u2019s and women\u2019s titles respectively, underscoring the depth of the Korean program during the tour. <\/p>\n
An again showed his class at Saujana, opening with a field-leading 67 before sliding back with rounds of 72 and 76. He finished tied for fourth alongside fellow Korean Park Jae-min and Malaysia\u2019s Anson Yeo at one-over-par 215. <\/p>\n
