With Sophie now involved in the new global women\u2019s basketball league it opens up more avenues to sign elite players. Other WNBA players who have committed to play in the international league include All-Stars like Nneka Ogwumike, Kelsey Mitchell, Jonquel Jones, Alyssa Thomas and Jewell Loyd.Founded by Skype Co-founder Geoff Prentice and former Facebook executive Grady Burnett, the league will feature seven 2-week tournaments across Europe, Asia and Latin America. There will be six teams with 11 players each. Until now, 6 players have been confirmed in the women\u2019s league. There has been no announcement made on the men’s counterparts yet. <\/p>\n

Recently, the Indiana Fever star made another exciting announcement in collaboration with Project B. The upcoming international hoops league signed Sophie, making her the latest addition to the roster. A part of the announcement included a statement from the WNBA star. So come on this journey with us.\u201dAccording to Bloomberg, the league initially aimed at raising $5 billion. They have even offered $2 million to some of the players they have signed with. The multi-million dollar salaries are way above what the players are getting within the WNBA.
