Someone might be getting fired.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, UFC Brazil\u2019s X account<\/a> sent out a message to announce a lightweight matchup between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira for the \u201cBMF\u201d title at UFC 324 on Jan. 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The post was quickly deleted, but it was up long enough for the MMA community to take notice and start sharing.<\/p>\n As you may have heard, UFC 324<\/a> will serve as the first major event of 2026 and the jumpstart to UFC\u2019s broadcast partnership with Paramount+<\/a>. An interim lightweight title fight<\/a> between streaking English star Paddy Pimblett and veteran fan favorite Justin Gaethje is expected to headline. The matchup has caught some backlash, but the promotion has bolstered UFC 324\u2019s main card<\/a> with a co-main event between current women\u2019s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison and all-time great Amanda Nunes.<\/p>\n Of course, there\u2019s always room for more if UFC wants to add a \u201cBMF\u201d title fight to help start the Paramount+ era off with a bang.<\/p>\n Holloway, who is no longer looking to compete at 145 pounds<\/a>, is coming off a trilogy fight win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 318 this past July (highlights HERE<\/a>). The former UFC featherweight champion looked better than ever in that fight and a big reason why is that he\u2019s finally digging his heels in at 155 pounds and reshaping his body for the division. It will be interesting to see what Holloway can do as he starts meeting some of the best lightweights in the world (don\u2019t forget he beat Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 as well).<\/p>\n As for Oliveira, he\u2019s coming off a masterful submission win over lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Rio this past October (watch HERE<\/a>). The aura seems to be back for \u201cdo Bronx\u201d after going just 2-3 in his previous five Octagon appearances, but he\u2019ll have to prove himself again in 2026. If that comes against Holloway then Oliveira will also have the opportunity to avenge a TKO loss to \u201cBlessed\u201d from all the way back in 2015.<\/p>\n We\u2019ll have to wait and see if Saturday\u2019s social media snafu was just a stupid mistake or if Holloway vs. Oliveira 2 is actually going down at UFC 324.<\/p>\n
