Turn them over and check the cleats. I bet you they’re in need of replacing, right? It’s a job we all put off for far too long because, let’s face it, it ain’t a sexy buy, but leaving them until they’re too far gone can have knock on implications for bike fit and can result in an increased injury risk.<\/p>\n Sigma has a load of cleats on sale<\/a>, but the one you want if you’re a Shimano user is the yellow 6\u00ba float option (float is how much the shoe can rotate freely in the pedal). The blue 2\u00ba option is even cheaper, but personally I think unless you have an absolute spot on bike fit then going to the even cheaper 2\u00ba (or even the red zero-degree option) is a potential recipe for disaster for your knees. I’ve found one of my all-time favourite pairs of cycling glasses with a really tidy discount in the USA.<\/p>\n Oakley’s standard Encoder was ace – Big but not ridiculous, with a frameless design that never felt floppy thanks to the ridge at the top of the lens. Shortly after Oakley launched the Encoder Strike, which was basically the same, but with some vents added to the upper portion. I never found the OG set were prone to fogging, but they can’t hurt, and at the moment the Prizm Road (the best road lens out there) is 25% off, and if you’re heading off-road the Trail Torch set are half-off. Sadly none of it is particularly exciting.<\/p>\n My morning was spent sanding a bedroom wall ready for painting, so a trip to the hardware store yesterday saw me bag a Black Friday deal on some premixed filler.<\/p>\n There was a bike related pucrchase while there, though. I also bought myself a 6mm drill bit, for which I’ll be using to drill the fork dropout on an aero bike at the weekend.<\/p>\n That’s because we’re heading back to the wind tunnel next week to test a few more bikes (as well as some tyres, spokes, and a few other bits).<\/p>\n The problem is, when a bike has a closed dropout, it makes mounting it into the tunnel a lot more time consuming. At over \u00a3500 an hour, we try to avoid this as much as possible!<\/p>\n 2025-11-28T12:42:09.911Z<\/p>\n I hate running, but this is a really great running watch find… the more premium Garmin Forerunner 165 is now cheaper than a full price basic Forerunner 55<\/a>. <\/p>\n The Basic Forerunner 55 is on sale too, but having some experience with the 55 and more premium watches like the new Instinct 3 I think the extra outlay is well worth it. Yes, the 55 will track your running basically exactly the same as the 165, but the latter has a bigger, brighter touchscreen and a lot of additional health and fitness tracking features beyond just your time splits.<\/p>\n Basically you can think of the 55 as like a bike computer, but for running. My partner has one and she puts it on to run and takes it off afterwards. One that’s stood the test of time and stayed in my wardrobe permanently has been the Maap Atmos.<\/p>\n It’s crazy light, super packable, and while it doesn’t have the same super-protective feeling as really hardcore jackets like the Rapha Pro Team Gore-Tex Jacket, it’s absolute perfect for spring all the way through to autumn.
