In a month\u2019s time, the US Open will be underway at Flushing Meadows in New York.<\/p>\n

Thousands will flock through the gates to witness the pulsating on-court action from the world\u2019s best players.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen which ATP<\/a> and WTA<\/a> players will make their way through the field to lift the title inside Arthur Ashe stadium.<\/p>\n

But one player who has competed in the US Open<\/a> on 14 previous occasions will not be part of the field in 2025.<\/p>\n

The 2025 US Open will take place without a former semifinalist at the event, Grigor Dimitrov<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Bulgarian was facing a battle to be fit for the Grand Slam following the injury he sustained at Wimbledon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former top 10 player won the first two sets of his quarterfinal against Jannik Sinner<\/a> at the All-England Club, before Dimitrov tore his pectoral muscle<\/a>, which forced him to retire from the match at 2-2 in the third set.<\/p>\n

As Dimitrov continues to recover, Bulgarian news outlet Tenniscafe<\/a> reported that Dimitrov\u2019s manager Georgi Stoimenov told the publication that the 34-year-old will miss the US Open.<\/p>\n

This will bring a run of 58 consecutive Grand Slam appearances to an end, a streak which commenced at the 2011 Australian Open<\/a> and ended at Wimbledon this July.<\/p>\n

Given his form at Wimbledon before he suffered injury, he will be devastated to miss the US Open.<\/p>\n

His run of 58 successive Grand Slam events was the longest among active players and the fifth longest of all time.<\/p>\n

Tenniscafe also reported that Dimitrov and his team are hoping he will be back on court for the Asian tennis tournaments in October.<\/p>\n
