Brandon Carlo<\/a>\u2019s absence from Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>\u2019 lineup increasingly appears like it will be a long one.<\/p>\n

Head coach Craig Berube<\/a> said on Tuesday that the veteran blueliner \u201cprobably\u201d needs a procedure of some sort to address a lower-body injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has to get something done,\u201d Berube told reporters on Tuesday ahead of the team\u2019s game with the Florida Panthers<\/a>. \u201cIt didn\u2019t go the way we thought.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carlo, 29, last played on Nov. 13. On Monday, Berube indicated there was a setback in his recovery. He\u2019s appeared in 18 games this season.<\/p>\n

A native of Colorado Springs, CO, Carlo was acquired from the Boston Bruins<\/a> at the 2025 trade deadline. Carlo is in his 10th season out of the Western Hockey League\u2019s Tri-City Americans.<\/p>\n

No progress for Stolarz<\/p>\n

Berube revealed Tuesday that Anthony Stolarz<\/a> has still yet to skate as he continues to deal with an upper-body injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo real improvement there,\u201d Berube said of the goaltender\u2019s status.<\/p>\n

Stolarz, in his second season with the team, incurred the injury during a 5-3 loss to the\u00a0Boston Bruins<\/a>\u00a0on Nov. 11. He hasn\u2019t played since.<\/p>\n

In 13 games this season, Stolarz is 6-5-1 with a goals against average of 3.51 and an .884 save percentage. He is in his ninth NHL season, having previously suited up for the\u00a0Florida Panthers<\/a>,\u00a0Anaheim Ducks<\/a>,\u00a0Edmonton Oilers<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Philadelphia Flyers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A native of Edison, NJ, Stolarz signed a four-year, $15 million extension with the Leafs in September.<\/p>\n

The Leafs (11-11-3) sit in the basement of the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n
