You can join other cyclists on Dec. 6 for a ride around the river. This year, Friends of Off-Road Cycling is partnering with Front Street Brewery for a food drive.<\/p>\n

DAVENPORT, Iowa \u2014 Local cyclists are gearing up for what organizers call the Quad Cities\u2019 biggest Fat Bike event as riders gather on Saturday, Dec. 6 for Global Fat Bike Day 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The community ride begins at noon at Front Street Brewery\u2019s location at the Freight House in Davenport, with a group photo planned for 1 p.m. at LeClaire Park before cyclists head out along the Mississippi River.<\/p>\n

The event is hosted by the local nonprofit Friends of Off-Road Cycling<\/a> with support from Front Street Brewery. This year\u2019s ride will also serve as a food drive for River Bend Food Bank, and participants are encouraged to bring canned goods or other non-perishable items to help support local families. Those who donate will be automatically entered into a \u201cgrowler of the month\u201d gift basket drawing.<\/p>\n

Riders can freely choose their route, whether it\u2019s north to Sylvan Island\u2019s singletrack trails, south to Credit Island, or through downtown Davenport on pavement. All types of bikes are welcome.<\/p>\n

Front Street Brewery will offer several ride-day specials, including buy-one-get-one pints of beer, $2 off growlers, and discounted 4-packs to take home. A separate prize raffle will be drawn at 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

River Bend Food Bank\u2019s most-needed items include canned meat, stews, chili, peanut butter, soups, tuna, chicken, vegetables and fruit.<\/p>\n

As for the cold, organizers say: \u201cFat bikes don\u2019t care, and neither should you.\u201d<\/p>\n
