Here&#8217;s what to know."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">December is bringing us the last supermoon of 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On Thursday, Dec. 4, the supermoon will take over the sky, according to NASA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">December&#8217;s moon, also known as the Cold Moon, will light up the night sky, and the supermoon will look around 30% brighter and up to 14% larger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Days after the supermoon takes over the sky, there will be a Moon-Jupiter conjunction, which means the celestial bodies will appear close together even though they are far apart, according to NASA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Here&#8217;s what you should know about the full moon in December.<\/p>\n<p>Beaver Moon illuminates the sky. The moon will also look full for several days after it peaks.<\/p>\n<p>What is a supermoon?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Supermoons happen when a new moon or a full moon is at its closest to Earth all month, according to NASA. The phenomenon is known as &#8220;perigee.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Because of that, the moon will look 30% brighter and up to 14% larger than it usually does.<\/p>\n<p>When is the next supermoon?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The next supermoon will take place on Jan. 3, 2026, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.almanac.com\/what-supermoon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Old Farmer&#039;s Almanac;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Old Farmer&#8217;s Almanac<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Another will occur on Nov. 24, 2026, and Dec. 23, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Will you be able to see December&#8217;s supermoon?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As of Wednesday, Dec. 3, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/graphical.weather.gov\/sectors\/conus.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:National Weather Service;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">National Weather Service<\/a>\u00a0is predicting that most of the U.S. will have heavy sky coverage throughout the night of Dec. 4.<\/p>\n<p>Maps of sky coverage<img alt=\"As of the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 3, the National Weather Service predicts a high percentage of sky coverage to occur at 7 p.m. ET on Dec. 4 in various parts of the country.\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"618\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/678b439153aff9027c65540028622996.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>As of the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 3, the National Weather Service predicts a high percentage of sky coverage to occur at 7 p.m. ET on Dec. 4 in various parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Moon-Jupiter conjunction<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Just days after the December supermoon, Jupiter will be spotted right next to the moon on Dec. 7, according to NASA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The two will be spotted in the eastern sky, with Jupiter hanging around north east of the moon at around 11 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"In December, the full moon will fall on Thursday, Dec. 4, while the new moon will occur on Friday, Dec. 19.\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/5c9308a13542329e8b1347f053b41755.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In December, the full moon will fall on Thursday, Dec. 4, while the new moon will occur on Friday, Dec. 19.<\/p>\n<p>Does the supermoon cause higher-than-usual tides?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Yes, supermoons can cause higher-than-usual tides known as king tides.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;You might know that especially high tides, sometimes called king tides, tend to fall in the day or so after the full moon for November through January,&#8221;
