Sent to party president Aisha Estey Wednesday morning, the letter says the MLAs have \u201clost confidence\u201d in Rustad\u2019s leadership and want an interim leader to take his place.<\/p>\n<p>The party leader said he has not seen the letter and noted that the disgruntled MLAs were not willing to put their names to it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s obviously some loud voices that are part of that group and I have been for some time listening to what those voices are,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p>Rustad would not say if he plans to ask the MLAs who signed the letter to leave the Official Opposition, saying that\u2019s an internal caucus matter.<\/p>\n<p>He has faced multiple resignation calls in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>In October, seven members of the party\u2019s management committee, including Estey, signed a letter calling on Rustad to resign, citing a \u201cstate of chaos\u201d within the party.<\/p>\n<p>And earlier this month, 30 party members connected to the riding association signed a letter asking Rustad to step down, saying the party is unable to fundraise enough money because of problems with his leadership.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rustad has repeatedly defied the resignation calls, citing the 70 per cent support he received from party members in September in the mandated leadership review.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There is nothing in the <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.nationbuilder.com\/bcconservative\/pages\/2864\/attachments\/original\/1741209990\/CPBC_%28March_2025%29_Constitution.pdf?1741209990#:~:text=present%20for%20adoption.-,ARTICLE%2011%20%2D%20THE%20LEADER,a%20universal%20secret%20paper%20ballot.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">party constitution<\/a> that requires Rustad to step down if some MLAs express non-confidence.
