UFC commentator Joe Rogan had some fine words on his podcast \u2018The Joe Rogan Experience\u2019 about Olympic Gold Medalist Freestyle Wrestler and current undefeated MMA prospect, Gable Steveson.<\/p>\n
He started by saying, \u201cThe heavyweight division is so devoid of talent.\u201d But followed up with, \u201cGable Steveson is the fucking guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was also the 2021 Pan American Champion in Freestyle Wrestling. On his Wikipedia<\/a> page, Steveson holds a freestyle wrestling record of 40-6.<\/p>\n In September 2025, the 25-year-old made his professional MMA debut at LFA 217<\/a>, where he earned a first-round TKO against Braden Peterson. Just over two months later, he followed that victory up with a first-round knockout against Kevin Hein at Anthony Pettis FC 21.<\/p>\n Joe Rogan talked about the knockout with serious excitement, \u201cHe KO\u2019d this guy with a left hand and then took him down as he was knocked out.<\/p>\n It\u2019s so crazy, the speed that this guy has. First of all, really good striking already, and he\u2019s only been striking for like a fucking year.\u201d<\/p>\n Steveson wasn\u2019t facing MMA veterans; instead, he was facing fellow up-and-comers. Peterson had a 1-0 professional record coming into their bout, while Hein was 2-1.<\/p>\n The heavyweight born in Portage, Indiana, is fighting under the illustrious Jackson Wink gym.<\/p>\n Rogan went on to say, \u201cHe\u2019s not even in the UFC yet.
