And the hits just keep coming for the University of Toronto.<\/p>\n

In addition to being the top\u00a0school in Canada<\/a>\u00a0and the second most sustainable university<\/a> in the world, U of T\u00a0can also applaud itself for being the number one research university in the country.<\/p>\n

Research Infosource Inc. released a report this week<\/a> outlining the top research universities, colleges and hospitals in Canada, as well as the Top 15 Federal Government research & development performers. <\/p>\n

To determine the universities’\u00a0rankings, factors such as faculty headcount, graduate student enrollment and financial data from Statistics Canada were closely looked at.<\/p>\n

For a second year in a row, U of T nabbed the top spot for receiving $1,588,932 in funding in 2024, up 10.8 per cent from the previous year.<\/p>\n

Of the 50 top universities, 17 others are in Ontario.<\/p>\n

University of Ottawa and McMaster University round out the top 10, taking the 7th and 9th spots, respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When it comes to research performance, impact and excellence, U of T has lots to brag about heading into the new year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
