The average family of four will be spend $17,571 on food next year, an increase of almost a thousand dollars from this year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/food-inflation-canada-food-report.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-286552\" class=\"size-full wp-image-286552\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/food-inflation-canada-food-report.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"356\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-286552\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Canada\u2019s Food Price Report\/Agri-Food Analytics Lab)<\/p>\n<p>To put that into context, food prices are 27 per cent higher now than they were five years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The price of beef has soared this year with a 19 per cent increase in the first quarter alone but import partnerships with Mexico and Australia have helped stabilize the cost.<\/p>\n<p>Customer demand for chicken has increased due to the cost of beef, and that means chicken prices will rise substantially next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; If you think food at the grocery store is expensive now, brace yourself for next year.
