Former New York Yankees<\/a> right-hander Michael King has to feel confident about what his free-agency market is going to look like.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s tough to get a perfect feel for the market for the San Diego Padres<\/a>‘ free agent due to some of his injuries, but after his former teammate Dylan Cease landed a seven-year, $210 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>, it almost feels safe to say that King is going to get a much bigger contract than some expect.<\/p>\n

Where he will land is the next question, but the Yankees are certainly an attractive spot for the reliever-turned-starter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite that reality, Pete Caldera of NJ.com believes he\u2019ll join the Boston Red Sox<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cA New Englander (Boston College) and ex-Yankee, King goes to the other side of The Rivalry, boosting Boston’s rotation,\u201d he wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for other landing spots, NJ.com\u2019s Andrew Tredinnick also doesn\u2019t believe he\u2019ll end up back with the Yankees in the Bronx, predicting him to take a deal with the crosstown rival New York Mets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey found success with another former Yankees relief standout in Clay Holmes. The duo links up again to bolster the top of the team’s staff.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s still a chance King could return to the Yankees on a new deal, but it\u2019s also important to remember that many teams around the league are searching for starters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

King has a strong argument as the best right-hander available right now, so there\u2019s going to be a premium price attached.<\/p>\n
