\n\tOne of Europe\u2019s leading commercial television networks, TF1 Group, unveiled stable financial results for the first half of 2025 with \u20ac1.1 billion ($1.2 billion) in consolidated revenue, on par with last year.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe biggest source of growth for TF1 Group during the first half of the year came from digital advertising revenues, which were up 41.4% to \u20ac92 million ($106 million), bolstered by its AVOD service TF1+. That helped the overall advertising turnover of the company reach \u20ac782 million ($903 million), only down 2.5% on 2024.<\/p>\n
\n\tIn unveiling its results, the company, which includes six TV channels and an on-demand service TF1+, said it maintained its outlook for 2025 in spite of a \u201cmore challenging advertising market than expected, and with visibility remaining very limited.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tTF1 Group, however, saw its net profit fall from \u20ac96 million ($110 million) to \u20ac78 million ($90 million), a drop of 18%, during the first six months of 2025. The company blamed the drop in net profit on the exceptional surtax on corporate income introduced by the French government this year for very large companies whose annual turnover in at least \u20ac1 billion. <\/p>\n
\n\tThe group\u2019s chief financial officer Pierre-Alain G\u00e9rard told AFP that surtax is \u201cexpected to weigh between \u20ac20 million ($23.1 million) and \u20ac25 million ($28.9 million) on the full year 2025\u201d and pointed that the group\u2019s profit would have been unchanged without it. <\/p>\n
\n\tTF1 Group\u2019s president Rodolphe Belmer<\/a> also argued U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s aggressive trade policy and tariffs threats caused uncertainties that \u201cweighed on advertisers\u2019 investments.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tWhile linear audiences are declining everywhere, TF1 Group kept its ratings leadership in France during the first half of 2025 with a 33.7% market share. Its flagship channel TF1 garnered a 20.3% market share \u2014 up 9.2 points compared with commercial network M6 Group. Its highest rated series stands as \u201cHPI,\u201d the French procedural series starring Audrey Fleurot, which has been remade by ABC as \u201cHigh Potential,\u201d and lured up to 7.8 million viewers. While TF1\u2019s on-demand service is gaining traction, the bulk of TF1 Group\u2019s audiences (79%) is still on linear. <\/p>\n \n\tThe group\u2019s film production and distribution division, Studio TF1, is also a source of growth. Its revenues were up 6% to \u20ac128 million ($147 million) during the first half of 2025. The division is behind some high profile French shows recently launched, notably \u201cTout pour la Lumiere,\u201d Netflix\u2019s first French daily soap.<\/p>\n \n\tTF1\u2019s share value rose by 4,81\u00a0% to \u20ac8.5 ($9.8) at the Paris stock exchange after unveiling its financial results on Tuesday. <\/p>\n \n\tTF1<\/a>\u00a0Group recently made waves with a\u00a0first-of-its-kind deal with Netflix<\/a>, which will see the latter carry TF1\u2019s five free-to-air channels and on-demand content starting in the summer of 2026.
