The White House deleted a video it posted to its X account earlier this week that used a Sabrina Carpenter song set to footage of immigration authorities detaining migrants, which prompted the singer to hit back and call the video \u201cevil and disgusting.\u201d <\/p>\n

The video is no longer available on the White House\u2019s X account as of Friday afternoon, and although it is still up on TikTok<\/a>, the audio of Carpenter\u2019s song is no longer available.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear why the video was taken down, though some artists have previously complained<\/a> about the Trump administration\u2019s use of their music and forced it to take such posts<\/a> down on copyright grounds.<\/p>\n Carpenter slammed the White House in a response<\/a> to its since-deleted post that has garnered 1.7 million likes: \u201cThis video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n Before the post was deleted, the White House doubled down and slammed Carpenter in a statement using her own lyrics: \u201cHere\u2019s a Short n\u2019 Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won\u2019t apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country. Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?\u201d White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n The video was set to an edited version of Carpenter\u2019s song \u201cJuno,\u201d which repeats the line: \u201cHave you ever tried this one?\u201d and each time the line repeated, the video showed a different clip of ICE officers detaining immigrants, some of whom were handcuffed, chased and held to the ground.<\/p>\n \u201cHave you ever tried this one? Bye-bye \ud83d\udc4b\ud83d\ude0d\u201d the White House said in the caption.<\/p>\n The audio has previously been used in a viral TikTok trend in which users would satirically mimic different sex positions each time the \u201cHave you ever tried this one?\u201d line plays, inspired by Carpenter\u2019s performances of \u201cJuno\u201d on tour, in which she would mimic a different sex position during each show.<\/p>\n What Other Singers Have Criticized The White House?<\/p>\n In November, singer Olivia Rodrigo slammed the White House for using her song \u201cAll-American Bitch\u201d in a video urging immigrants to self-deport. \u201cDon\u2019t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda,\u201d Rodrigo said<\/a> in a social media comment. Singer Jess Glynne criticized the White House for using the viral Jet2holiday TikTok sound, which includes her song \u201cHold My Hand,\u201d in a social media video about ICE deportations. \u201cThis post honestly makes me sick,\u201d Glynne said<\/a>, stating her \u201cmusic is about love, unity, and spreading positivity \u2014 never about division or hate.\u201d The band MGMT<\/a> said on Instagram in October it issued a takedown request to the Department of Homeland Security for the unauthorized use of its song \u201cLittle Dark Age\u201d in a \u201cpropaganda video\u201d of ICE agents detaining protesters. The video<\/a> is still available on Instagram but no longer contains the song. Comedian Theo Von also slammed DHS for using a clip of him in a video in September. \u201cI know you know my address so send a check,\u201d he said. \u201cPlease take this down and please keep me out of your \u2018banger\u2019 deportation videos.
