The man was shot by police and transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Special Investigations Unit has been notified and has invoked its mandate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The investigation remains ongoing.
