Joanides\u2019 death was announced by NASCAR and ARCA crew member Colby Evans, who lamented the loss of a \u201cgood friend,\u201d and dubbed it a \u201csad day for motorsports.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tributes have poured in from across the motorsports community. One fan wrote: \u201cPour out a glass for Nick and Michael. Two in one day is just awful. I wish their families the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

A second said: \u201cThat\u2019s just terrible. This guy was West Coast NASCAR. Always reliable enough to race whenever and wherever. Goddamn.\u201d<\/p>\n
A third added: \u201cThe world is an extremely cruel place. We started yesterday with the amazing news that Stewart Friesen was up and walking again and we ended the day with two drivers dead. Such a shame, RIP to both.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joanides\u2019 death was a bitter blow to NASCAR fans already digesting the sudden passing of 39-year-old Annett. His cause of death has not been revealed.<\/p>\n
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Annett family with the passing of our friend Michael Annett,” JR Motorsports said in a statement.<\/p>\n
