The Buffalo Bills<\/a> go up against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday for what’s becoming a critical game<\/a> for the team’s playoff hopes. <\/p>\n

Buffalo has an 88% chance of making the playoffs right now, but if they fall, that will dip to 74%.<\/p>\n

According to NFL research<\/a>, if the Bills pull off a win over the Bengals, their shot at making the playoffs will go up to 95%. So, they’re practically guaranteed a spot if they beat Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

Before the game, however, the NFL<\/a> disciplined one Buffalo Bills player for his actions during the team’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. This player also happens to be one of Allen’s go-to offensive teammates.<\/p>\n

Each week during the NFL season, the league hands out punishments in the form of fines to players who broke the league’s rules the week prior. The NFL states on their website<\/a> that they issue these fines “to protect players from unnecessary risk and preserve competitive balance and game integrity.”<\/p>\n

For Week 13, the NFL announced that Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis was fined $6,500 fine for unnecessary roughness (use of a helmet). The incident happened at the 1:04 mark in the second quarter of the team’s game.<\/p>\n

The week’s biggest punishment went to Isiah Pacheco of the Kansas City Chiefs for with a $46,371 fine for unnecessary roughness (use of a helmet) against the Dallas Cowboys.<\/p>\n

The funds raised from those fines will go to the Professional Athletes Foundation<\/a> to “support legends in need and the NFL Foundation<\/a> to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game,” according to the NFL.<\/p>\n

“Players are notified of violations and may appeal any ruling<\/a>,” the NFL says in their official rules book. “Cases are heard by appeals officers and former NFL players, Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster or Jordy Nelson, who are jointly appointed and paid by the NFL\/NFLPA.
