Austin Green has announced he will drive the No. 87 Chevrolet full-time in the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series for Peterson Racing, his first full-time seat after a number of years in part-time action.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Green comes from a storied racing family: his father, David Green, won the 1994 Busch<\/a> Series championship, and his uncles, Jeff Green and Mark Green, both made their marks in NASCAR<\/a>.<\/p>\n

From go-karts at age four to legends cars as a teen, Green developed his craft early, a journey that once looked like it might take him away from NASCAR\u2019s national spotlight. It comes as Kevin Harvick’s his own son is starting to make waves on the track.<\/a><\/p>\n

Over the past two seasons, Green has run part-time in the O\u2019Reilly Series, often in collaboration with Jordan Anderson Racing,\u00a0 collecting solid results that turned heads.<\/p>\n

Across 21 starts, he has racked up eight top-10 finishes and two top-5s, including a runner-up at the 2025 Charlotte ROVAL.<\/p>\n

But part-time schedules only go so far. For 2026, Peterson Racing is leaving behind its earlier JV-style partnership and going all-in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The team not only confirmed Green as its sole driver for all 33 events but also formed a new technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing (RCR), giving Green access to proven equipment and support.<\/p>\n

That alliance could be the key to unlocking Green\u2019s full potential. On road courses and street courses he has shown strong skill, but success on ovals will be critical.<\/p>\n

With RCR\u2019s resources and experience, Peterson Racing hopes their No. 87 team has what it takes to grow into a contender, not just a part-time story.\u00a0<\/p>\n
