A member of the Edo State House of Assembly, Okaka Eric, says the House may forgive embattled lawmaker Natasha Osawaru\u2014 wife of music star Innocent \u20182face\u2019 Idibia \u2014if she appears before the legislature and shows genuine remorse over her recent conduct.\n<\/p>\n
Osawaru, who represents Egor Constituency, was summoned after viral videos showed her and the singer engaged in a heated public altercation that later spilt onto an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.\n<\/p>\n
During plenary on Monday, the Assembly directed Osawaru to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee within seven working days to defend herself against allegations of misconduct.\n<\/p>\n
Speaking with Sunday PUNCH, Eric stated that while the House would not deny her constituents proper representation, its willingness to be lenient depended on her attitude when she appeared before the committee.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cShe is a member representing a constituency, and nobody will deprive her constituents of their voice. But if she actually committed some of the acts mentioned and she is remorseful, and decides to take a new course, the House can choose to forgive her.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
He stressed that the committee\u2019s findings would be presented to the full House before any final decision is taken.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cWhatever the committee recommends is not final. It will return to the floor of the House for debate. Based on circumstances, the House might be lenient, but we don\u2019t want to pre-empt the report,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The chairman of the Ethics and Privileges Committee, Eugene Inegbeboh, also confirmed that the panel was on a fact-finding mission.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThe House has told her to appear. She just recently gave birth, but we expect her to come and state her case,\u201d he told one of our correspondents.\n<\/p>\n
Viral clash raises concerns over 2Face\u2019s image\n<\/p>\n
The controversy stems from a now-viral livestream where 2face joined a discussion involving former associates Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, who accused Natasha of exerting excessive control over his personal and professional affairs.\n<\/p>\n
Moments after he appeared, the livestream captured a tense verbal exchange between the couple before abruptly ending.\n<\/p>\n
The incident amplified earlier concerns after another video surfaced showing the singer in a confrontation in London that reportedly drew police intervention. <\/p>\n
The episodes have sparked conversations about whether ongoing personal turmoil could erode 2face\u2019s decades-long legacy built from the Plantashun Boiz era to hits such as African Queen.<\/p>\n
Industry figures urge caution and help\n<\/p>\n
Filmmaker Charles Novia, who worked with 2Face and Blackface in the 1990s, said the singer and his ex-wife Annie had separated more than two years ago, noting that Natasha entered the picture shortly after.\n<\/p>\n
Novia argued that the collapse of 2face\u2019s professional management structure worsened his struggles.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s still a creative force, but he needs to seek help. Only he can do that,\u201d he wrote on Facebook, urging both 2face and Natasha to take time for personal rehabilitation.\n<\/p>\n
Other public figures echoed similar sentiments.\n<\/p>\n
Content creator Nasboi appealed to the singer to \u201ctake control\u201d of the situation, while talent manager Teebillz advised him to prioritise emotional well-being, saying \u201cthere\u2019s no shame in choosing life.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Rapper Jesse Jagz described 2face as an industry pillar whose stability matters to the music ecosystem.<\/p>\n
Family and relationship expert, Praise Fowowe, urged the public to respond with empathy rather than judgment, noting that marital crises often point to deeper emotional gaps.\n<\/p>\n
While 2face has since called for a \u201cceasefire\u201d from fans and well-wishers, insisting that he is fine, Natasha has remained silent on the matter.\n<\/p>\n
When contacted by Sunday PUNCH, she picked up her call but said nothing before a background voice said, \u201cCut the call.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Before her relationship with 2face, Natasha was allegedly involved with a man identified as Paul, rumoured to be the father of her son.\n<\/p>\n
