At their meeting on Nov. 25, Limerick Township council discussed a full septic replacement that needed to be done at the community centre on Hwy. 620. Due to the urgency of the work required, council was informed electronically on Nov. 19 and it was discussed and voted on with the agenda for the Nov. 25 meeting, at which time it was revealed that Murphy\u2019s Septic Service out of Bancroft had been chosen to do the work at a cost of a little over $21,000. CAO Victoria Tisdale comments on this issue to The Bancroft Times.<\/p>\n
Limerick Township council discussed the septic replacement at their meeting on Nov. 25. Mayor Kim Carson brought it up under Action Items, mentioning that an electronic vote had been submitted the previous week on Nov. 19. A backup had occurred at the community centre and they had the septic pumped at which time it was identified that the weeping bed needed some work. When getting quotes for this following the pump out, it was indicated the interior wall of the septic tank has collapsed. This promoted the electronic notification to council to enable staff to authorize emergency corrective action.<\/p>\n
Tisdale says they did not put out an RFP, as the work was under the amount required for an RFP, but just called for quotes to four companies to satisfy the requirements, and that the quotes were not made public.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe four companies were Earle\u2019s Excavating, Murphy\u2019s Septic Service, Tripp\u2019s Excavating and EBL Ltd.,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n
Tisdale told The Bancroft Times that she thought the discussion went well and that all four quotes received for the septic work were close to the same price.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut when factoring in the need to have the septic pumped as well that added costs to three of the quotes. Overall, it seemed like all of council was in agreement on the choice. \u00a0We have already been in contact with all applicants to let them know the results. \u00a0We ended up going with Murphy\u2019s Septic Service out of Bancroft,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n
