{"id":333070,"date":"2025-12-08T20:18:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T20:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/333070\/"},"modified":"2025-12-08T20:18:15","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T20:18:15","slug":"burgundy-asset-management-names-andrew-iu-as-new-chief-investment-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/333070\/","title":{"rendered":"Burgundy Asset Management names Andrew Iu as new chief investment officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Burgundy Asset Management Ltd. is making changes to its investment team on the heels of its acquisition by Bank of Montreal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/investing\/markets\/stocks\/BMO-T\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/investing\/markets\/stocks\/BMO-T\/\">BMO-T<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">On Monday, the wealth manager announced that Andrew Iu will replace chief investment officer Anne Mette de Place Filippini, effective immediately, according to a client letter seen by The Globe. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Ms. Mette de Place Filippini joined Burgundy in 2008 and was appointed CIO five years ago. During her tenure she helped launch the company\u2019s emerging markets strategy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">A Burgundy spokesperson declined to comment on the changes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article-body__text text-pr-5\">Co-founded by Tony Arrell and Richard Rooney, Toronto-based Burgundy manages about $27-billion for wealthy families and foundations. Earlier this year the company was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-bank-of-montreal-buying-burgundy-asset-management-for-625-million\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/article-bank-of-montreal-buying-burgundy-asset-management-for-625-million\/\">purchased by BMO<\/a> for $625-million.
