{"id":333948,"date":"2025-12-09T05:51:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T05:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/333948\/"},"modified":"2025-12-09T05:51:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T05:51:06","slug":"australian-open-2026-entry-lists-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/333948\/","title":{"rendered":"Australian Open 2026 entry lists released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Djokovic, <a href=\"https:\/\/ausopen.com\/history\/honour-roll\/mens-singles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a 10-time AO champion<\/a>, enters as world No.4 after reaching all four major semifinals in 2025, making him the oldest man in the Open era to achieve this feat in one season.<\/p>\n<p>The notable absentee from the men\u2019s field is world No.15 Holger Rune, who continues to rehabilitate a ruptured Achilles tendon.<\/p>\n<p>Sabalenka will be joined in the women\u2019s field by defending champion <a href=\"https:\/\/ausopen.com\/players\/united-states-america\/madison-keys#!latest\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Madison Keys<\/a>, world No.2 <a href=\"https:\/\/ausopen.com\/players\/poland\/iga-swiatek#!latest\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Iga Swiatek<\/a> \u2013 who is targeting a career Slam in Melbourne after her 2025 Wimbledon victory \u2013 and reigning Roland Garros champion <a href=\"https:\/\/ausopen.com\/players\/united-states-america\/coco-gauff#!latest\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Coco Gauff<\/a>, who beat Sabalenka in the French final.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>World No.64 Danielle Collins and 76th-ranked Ons Jabeur, the latter currently on maternity leave, will miss the tournament, while former world No.1 Karolina Pliskova, China\u2019s Wang Yafan and rising Thai talent Mananchaya Sawangkaew have entered using protected rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Four men \u2013 Chinese stars Shang Juncheng and Zhang Zhizhen, Finn Emil Ruusuvuori and Australian favourite Thanasi Kokkinakis \u2013 have entered the tournament using protected rankings.<\/p>\n<p>That makes Argentina\u2019s Thiago Agustin Tirante the last direct acceptance, the world No.101 at the time of the 17 November rankings on which men&#8217;s entries are based.
