Michael Jordan<\/a> tends to bring a crowd with him everywhere he goes. Such is life when you\u2019re arguably the greatest basketball player who\u2019s ever walked the planet. <\/p>\n

The Western District of North Carolina courthouse was packed when Jordan took the stand this past Friday as part of Day 5 of the 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports versus NASCAR<\/a> antitrust lawsuit trial.\u00a0When he walked out of the courthouse Monday evening, one fan was waiting for him outside. <\/p>\n

The fan was blasting \u201cBe Like Mike\u201d as Jordan made his way out of the courthouse. Be Like Mike was the song used in Jordan\u2019s iconic Gatorade commercials in the 1990s. Jordan appeared to appreciate it. He chuckled as he came down the steps and even shook the fan\u2019s hand, per video captured by Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic<\/a>. <\/p>\n

For the fan, getting the handshake from Jordan made all of it worth it. Again, you can tell Jordan got a kick out of it. <\/p>\n

Inside the courtroom, the temperature has been high. Jordan, the 23XI co-owner, testified Friday in what was a highly anticipated moment. Jordan was called as a witness for 23XI. While being questioned, he was asked why he sued NASCAR<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone had to step forward and challenge the entity to understand that it is a real concern from our aspect,\u201d Jordan testified, according to\u00a0Adam Stern of\u00a0Sports Business Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At one point, he fired a verbal jab<\/a> at NASCAR CEO Jim France. While his time testifying was less confrontational than other witnesses, Jordan found his spots where he could get a dig in at the defendants.<\/p>\n

Matt Weaver of\u00a0Motorsport<\/a>\u00a0reported that, \u201cMJ says he wants to push NASCAR to be better. He says the drivers and teams assume most of the risk while NASCAR \u2018sits in Florida.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI never saw Jim France drive a car or risk his life,\u201d Jordan reportedly testified. \u201d\u2026 Give a little more credit to those who put their life on the line.\u201d Jordan continued to go to bat for drivers. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo insurance. No union,\u201d Jordan said. \u201c\u2026 That\u2019s where I thought the sport needed to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n
