Baltimore Ravens<\/a> quarterback Lamar Jackson has been playing some of the worst football of his career, and everything is trying to figure out exactly what’s going on.<\/p>\n

Jackson has completed less than 60 percent of his passes in each of his last five starts and has amassed a grand total of three touchdowns, two through the air and one on the ground. He has also committed six turnovers during that span.<\/p>\n

The two-time MVP missed three games during the middle of the season due to a hamstring injury and has also dealt with knee and toe ailments, but the general feeling is that Jackson’s struggles go deeper than that, per Jeff Howe of The Athletic.<\/p>\n

“However, while it\u2019s easy to focus on the injuries, the feeling is that there\u2019s more to it, especially since Jackson has played through injuries at various points throughout his career,” Howe wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Howe spoke to people around the NFL who seem to be worried about Jackson’s future, questioning whether or not that same elite talent is still there.<\/p>\n

\u201c(He just) doesn\u2019t look the same,\u201d an NFL executive told Howe.<\/p>\n

Jackson has thrown for 2,060 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 63.4 percent of his passes and posting a 100.0 passer rating this season. He has also rushed for 307 yards and a couple of scores.<\/p>\n

He doesn’t have a single 20-yard run in 2025, marking the first time in his career that that has occurred.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s just not as explosive as in the past,\u201d another executive said.<\/p>\n

Perhaps it really is just the injuries, because Jackson was playing at an MVP level earlier in the season. Or maybe all of the wear and tear that Jackson has experienced since entering the league in 2018 is finally starting to take its toll.<\/p>\n

Jackson is just 28 years old, so he should have plenty of football left in the tank, but much of the concern early in his career was that his play style would not lead to a lengthy career.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, that’s not what we’re seeing unfold at the moment.<\/p>\n
