Team Canada\u2019s list of players who could make their Olympic roster is down to the \u201clows 30s,\u201d general manager Doug Armstrong told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.<\/p>\n
Canada\u2019s front office staff spent the past three days meeting to cut down their list of hopefuls and solidify some of the roster. Armstrong told LeBrun that every player that was on the4 Nations Face-Off team in February remains in the mix for the Olympic squad.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) December 9, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Canada\u2019s 4 Nations team was comprised of 13 forwards, seven defencemen and three goaltenders for a total of 23, with Drew Doughty<\/a> of the Los Angeles Kings<\/a> replacing Alex Pietrangelo<\/a> in the weeks ahead of the event and Dallas Stars<\/a> blueliner Thomas Harley<\/a> joining as an injury replacement during the tournament. <\/p>\n Among the players not included on that roster who are making strong cases this season are young stars Macklin Celebrini<\/a> and Connor Bedard<\/a>, as well as Winnipeg Jets<\/a> centre Mark Scheifele<\/a>. Washington Capitals<\/a> winger Tom Wilson<\/a> is also reportedly on Canada\u2019s radar, while Armstrong said last week that Boston Bruins<\/a> breakout star Morgan Geekie<\/a> is under consideration as well. <\/p>\n Jordan Binnington<\/a>, Adin Hill<\/a> and Samuel Montembault made up the goaltending group at the 4 Nations, with Binnington starting all four games. Capitals netminder Logan Thompson<\/a> is having the strongest start among Canadian options this season with a 13-6-2 record with a .925 save percentage and a 1.96 goals-against average.<\/p>\n Forwards Sidney Crosby<\/a>, Nathan MacKinnon<\/a>, Connor McDavid<\/a>, Brayden Point<\/a> and Sam Reinhart<\/a> have already been named to Team Canada\u2019s roster, as well as blueliner Cale Makar<\/a>. <\/p>\n
