Valtteri Bottas has signalled the importance of ensuring his preparation and integration at Cadillac runs smoothly ahead of its debut next year.<\/p>\n
The Cadillac F1 project has been in the works for some time, originally starting off as a programme run by former driver Michael Andretti.<\/p>\n
However, after General Motors took over the scheme, it gained more traction and led to its approval to join the grid in 2026.<\/p>\n
It has been building towards its debut ever since, signing Bottas and Sergio Perez as its drivers.<\/p>\n
Bottas was present at Cadillac’s Silverstone base on Monday, where he carried out a seat fit as the preparations for his F1 comeback ramped up.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m excited to be starting as a Cadillac Formula 1 Team driver – finally,\u201d Bottas said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a proud moment in my career as it marks the beginning of a new chapter back on the grid with a team that\u2019s starting its journey in the sport.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of hard work that lies ahead, so I\u2019m keen to use my experience to help the team now that I\u2019m fully on board.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the first pre-season test taking place at the end of January, Cadillac is putting the final touches on its car as it gets ready to hit the track.<\/p>\n
\u201cSeeing everything coming together for the first time as a brand-new team is special and makes you realise the momentum of the project,\u201d\u00a0Bottas added.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s important to get the preparation right as these moments really are the first steps to getting us ready for the first test.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t wait to get the season started and go racing once again.\u201d<\/p>\n
