Eddie Hearn has declared himself ready for a blockbuster 2026 showdown with Australian promoters No Limit \u2013 and their longtime star Tim Tszyu \u2013 as part of a concept first conceived in a Leeds bar almost three years ago to the day.<\/p>\n

In what would be a historic boxing first Down Under, Fox Sports Australia can reveal both Hearn and Australia\u2019s No.1 promoter are open to the idea of having their fighters throw down in a \u20185V5\u2019 event sometime in the new year.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The concept would see five fighters from Hearn\u2019s Matchroom stable take on the biggest names of a No Limit crew headed by Tszyu, who looks to begin his push back to the top of world boxing in next Wednesday\u2019s headliner against undefeated American Anthony Velazquez.<\/p>\n

While there are still countless scenarios to play out before any potential showdown between Hearn and Australia\u2019s Rose boys, one potential opponent for Tszyu could be English superstar Conor Benn.<\/p>\n

Another mouth-watering option would be a world title showdown between Paro and IBF welterweight champ Lewis Crocker, who the Queenslander is mandated to face if he wins his January eliminator against Ireland\u2019s Paddy Donovan.<\/p>\n

The idea of No Limit\u2019s Rose boys working in conjunction with the heavyweight UK promoter could also involve other domestic stars like Nikita Tszyu, George Kambosos, Liam Paro, Justis Huni, Sam Goodman, Liam Wilson, Skye Nicolson, and even breakout heavyweight prospect Teremoana Jnr.<\/p>\n

Asked by Fox Sports Australia about the possibility of a \u20185 v 5\u2019 card against No Limit \u2013 like he has already done with Queensberry promoter Frank Warren \u2013 and the man fresh off a Netflix documentary series insists he is \u201cbang up for it\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we\u2019re looking to do some big things in Australia over the next year, I\u2019ve never had any interest in saying \u2018oh, we\u2019re going to take over \u2026 we\u2019re going to put everybody out of business\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019ve already got a decent relationship with No Limit.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not exceptional, but we could definitely work together on a lot of stuff.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if that\u2019s the case, a 5V5 would be brilliant.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure how they feel about it, but I\u2019m bang up for it, myself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s great.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to make great fights and do good business.<\/p>\n

Importantly, No Limit boss Matt Rose is also open to the idea, revealing how the concept was first discussed by himself and Hearn in a Leeds bar five years ago \u2013 and after the pair\u2019s female stars Ebanie Bridges and Shannon O\u2019Connell fought over IBF bantamweight gold.<\/p>\n

In recent months, Rose and Hearn have also been in regular contact to make the impending world title eliminator between Paro and Donovan, who also fights out of the Matchroom stable.<\/p>\n

That bout is set to double as the co-main to next January\u2019s all-Australian grudge match between Nikita Tszyu and Michael Zerafa.<\/p>\n

Asked about taking on Hearn\u2019s best in a 5V5 card, Rose said: \u201cIt\u2019s actually a concept we discussed with Eddie almost three years ago to the day, after the Ebanie Bridges versus Shannon O\u2019Connell world title in Leeds.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were at the hotel bar that night and I can tell you there was plenty of banter. I\u2019m also sure we could continue that into a show if the right fights can be made.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pushed on the rival promotions working together to create a huge event, Rose continued: \u201cI always say it\u2019s great to have big global shows in Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know Eddie talks a lot, but we do welcome him coming to Australia if he\u2019s genuinely invested in helping grow the sport.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Tszyu also welcomed the idea of adding Benn to a list of potential future rivals, but stressed that his resurrection, for now, involves all his focus being on Velazquez.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, everything is one step at a time,\u201d Tszyu said this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut something like that down the track, yeah, it definitely makes sense.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019m more than happy to take on all challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

And as for the Englishman specifically?<\/p>\n

\u201cConor Benn, he\u2019s strong,\u201d Tszyu continued. \u201cHe\u2019s also got a little of that peek-a-boo style, like Mike Tyson.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough in his most recent fight, I feel like Chris Eubank Jnr didn\u2019t even rock up.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo when instead of that you have somebody elite in front of you? Then it\u2019s a different story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Should he win next Wednesday\u2019s Sydney headliner, the fighter now dubbed \u2018Phoenix\u2019 will likely look to have a quick turnaround early next before then potentially being ready to headline what would be an Australian \u20185V5\u2019 first.<\/p>\n

Adding to the storyline around Benn is the fact the hugely popular Englishman is also the son of a former world champion, Nigel Benn, and lived for a time in Australia with his family, enjoying over 20 amateur fights here.<\/p>\n

Most recently, Benn has fought twice at middleweight against fellow British star Chris Eubank Jnr, losing the first before earning a comprehensive decision win in the second.<\/p>\n

However, the 29-year-old is now looking to drop back down in weight and campaign for a shot at the WBC welterweight crown, where he has been elevated to the No.1 contender.<\/p>\n

Depending on how that campaign shakes out, Benn could eventually prove a rival for Paro, especially if the Queenslander\u2019s own IBF quest proves successful.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Hearn would also be keen to match up his Queensland super lightweight Jake Wyllie \u2013 who was beaten by Kambosos earlier this year \u2013 as well as his unbeaten Aussie puncher Teremoana Jnr.<\/p>\n

Certainly the hulking Brisbane heavyweight has opened his professional career in devastating fashion, finishing all nine opponents \u2013 including his most recent six within the first round.<\/p>\n

Should the concept be given the green light, it\u2019s understood No Limit\u2019s undefeated Aussie prospect Callum \u201850 Cal\u2019 Peters would be keen to take a crack at Omari Jones, one of Matchroom\u2019s Next Big Things. <\/p>\n

Yet most immediately for the Australian promoters is the comeback fight of Tszyu, who faces an American rival boasting 15 KOs from his 18 wins. <\/p>\n
